If you've ever sold tickets in the Netherlands, you've probably looked at a few platforms and tried to figure out what you'd actually pay. Pricing structures vary a lot — some charge per ticket, some charge a percentage, some use monthly fees. After organizing events ourselves and comparing options, we put together this side-by-side look at the real costs.
Here's what ticketing actually costs in 2026.
The Platforms We Looked At
We focused on the two platforms that most Dutch event organizers encounter first: Link2Ticket and EventGoose. Both are Netherlands-based, both have been around for over a decade, and both advertise themselves as affordable options. Let's see if that holds up.
Link2Ticket: Advertised Fee vs All-In Cost
Link2Ticket's pricing page advertises EUR 0.80 per ticket on their Basic plan. That sounds reasonable — until you read the small print.
Payment method fees are charged separately on top of the ticket fee. Here's what you're actually paying:
- iDEAL: EUR 0.70 per transaction — on top of the EUR 0.80
- Credit cards: EUR 0.35 + 3.4% per transaction
- Bancontact: EUR 0.30 + 2.5% per transaction
For a typical Dutch event where most guests pay with iDEAL, the real per-ticket cost is EUR 1.50 — nearly double what the pricing page shows. The difference between the advertised and actual cost is worth knowing before you commit.
And if you want features like discount codes, ticket resale, or time-slot management? Those are locked behind "Advanced" and "Advanced+" tiers, which aren't publicly priced — you have to call their sales team.
EventGoose: EUR 1.00 All-In, But With Caveats
EventGoose is more transparent. Their EUR 1.00 per ticket includes iDEAL — the payment method fee isn't added on top. For that, they deserve credit. Compared to Link2Ticket's real cost, EventGoose is actually cheaper.
The problems are different. EventGoose passes the cost to the buyer, which means your guests see a service fee at checkout. And while their pricing is cleaner, there's no built-in ticket resale system, no webhook support, and no public API documentation — which limits what you can build on top of the platform.
As with any platform, it's worth testing during a smaller event before committing to a large-scale launch. Platform reliability under peak traffic is an important consideration for any organizer.
The Real Numbers Side By Side
| Platform | Advertised fee | iDEAL fee | Real cost per ticket |
|---|---|---|---|
| Link2Ticket | EUR 0.80 | +EUR 0.70 | EUR 1.50 |
| EventGoose | EUR 1.00 | Included | EUR 1.00 |
| Eventually | €9.99/event or €29/mo | Included | €0 per ticket |
For an event that sells 500 tickets, the difference between Link2Ticket and Eventually is EUR 500. That's a sound system rental. A second DJ. Or money that just stays in your pocket.
What About Feature Gating?
Pricing is only part of the story. What you get for that price matters just as much.
Each platform takes a different approach to feature access. Link2Ticket offers more features on higher tiers, while EventGoose keeps things simpler with a focused feature set. It's worth checking which features matter most to your specific events.
At Eventually, the first event is free with full platform access — page builder, Apple Wallet, offline check-in, iDEAL, and discount codes. After that, €9.99/event or Pro at €29/month adds features like full API, WhatsApp broadcasts, ticket resale, and custom domains.
Why We Built Eventually
We built Eventually because we wanted a platform with transparent pricing and modern infrastructure. As organizers ourselves, we know how important it is to understand exactly what you'll pay before you commit.
Our stack is built on React, Vercel, Supabase, and Stripe Connect — designed for reliability during peak-traffic moments. First event free. Need premium features? Pro is €29/month with zero per-ticket fees.
Both Link2Ticket and EventGoose have organizers who love them — and for good reason. We wrote this comparison because when we were evaluating platforms ourselves, we couldn't find an honest side-by-side anywhere. We hope this helps you make the right choice for your events.
If you want to try Eventually for your next event, you can start here. No credit card required to set up.
